Today, DRISHTI was born! Yes on 28th april 2004!!!!!!
DRISHTI,
a revolutionary concept,
which is one of the active student chapters of SVNIT,
" is a technical hobby club of SVNIT, Surat. The prime objective of Drishti is to implement vision and motive to each and every student."
12 SVNITians had a meeting in the Staff Club and Ashish Sharma Sir, known as DRISHTI MAN shared what all he intended to create in tech arena in the institute . In the meanwhile, he was in the final year and had only few days in the college(SVREC).Initially, there was no support from College side, so they went for memberships and there was a tremendous support from the students' side. As a result, 450 students became members.
On 6th October, lab was inaugurated @ ADM with a college's funding. Later it got shifted to the present lab near SBI.
The main faculties who supported DRISHTI are Prof Dave sir(Director, then) and Prof H B Naik(Present faculty adviser).
From the last few years, Drishti producing so many brilliant KVPY scholars, i.e. >20% of the total students (all over India). But, as samachar said in the last post about KVPY, because of strict rules, interaction with the 1st yrts was much more difficult in this academic year. But 4 SVNITians emerged as KVPY.
"........at least I had never thought that Drishti will change my course entirely..often call it as First experiment with reforms.....From Drishti dairy...
..If IITians are known because they r from IIT, our institute will be known because of v NITians..... "
