Be ready for more power-cut in H-8,9 & 10

                    The power-cut problem is to be continued in the next week also, bcoz of overload. The main reason for the overload is  AC running in the department buildings. Authorities are working on the problem and it will be solved within this week; until then :( .
                    Also , mostly power-cut will be there around 1-4 pm. So be prepared!!!!!!

They will usually gather at Library on every weekend(sat) with their wonderfull quiz set with presentations too!!!

Team Nirvana is conducting a workshop on general awareness for those poor people who did not get proper information about health and hygiene. There will be a lecture by Dr. Sanjay Shah. It’s a three day workshop including general information about BPL card for those people.

2nd Internal Postponed!

         Because of the incidents that occured last week and also considering that very less syllabus has been covered in the classes, 2nd internal has been postponed to

29th - 31st March 2010

Also, for final year trical and civil depts, the dates are unaltered i.e they have their internals from 22nd onwards.

There is no update is proveded in the institute site. It may be changed on monday. Here is the link .

Renesa, "RUST" In Peace!!!

Yup,
All final yr editors (chief editors)  are quitting the team....


       Once again it is proved that in our insti, there is a huge gap between faculty and student. Renesa ppl used to think RENESA may fill that void. But, authorities (i m not in a mood 2 call them facilitators) think that RENESA is  not working in an effective manner.
      Every active member of SVNIT family knows what changes the then active committee (July '09 - jan'10) brought to RENESA. A new era was started; but no one  might have thought that it would b ended so shortly/sadly/....
      Acc to samachar survey, renesa grp never got even a single mail from any student condemning its work. RENESA editor's inbox were flooded by congratulation-msgs after evry renesa was released. There was a HUNGAMA in every hostel to get the copies.

     Anyway, we are in a democratic country, but in an autocratic insti. So, 

We sympathize the dissolved team. 

They have put some mile stones in the last few months. Its our suggestion that future committee should follow some of these things.

CIRCULAR:

The institute news latter Renesa has been published since last four years
succssfully. Oflate, it is desired to make it more broad based and
comprehensive; particularly; to report the events and activities of
students and departments, sections in constructive and effective
manner.Hence , it is felt to expand and reconstruct the editorial board of
the News Later.

A committee of following members is formed to look into the issues as
cited above.

4. To review  / suggest financial support for the news latter.

movie screening : sherlock homes! on 6th Feb

Scosh (Society for cultivation of science and humanities,NIT Surat) brings your monthly entertainment movie screening event "Paramount", replicating the cultural culture of IITs and BITS(which really have nice movies and documentaries screening events).This movie is being done in 3 Slots, look out to poster for details....

Suggestions for the further movies are welcomed here....
Paramount is also having one 'senior's-special' slot from 5:30 to 8:00PM.
The Tickets for this slot will be available in the canteen break timings....

Mediclaim system - going to be cashless!!

          I hope you know that SVNITians are claiming their money spent @ adventist. According to samachar sources, the premium was about 11lacks, but SVNITians spent more than 15lacks in the previous year. Anyway our authorities err..... facilitators(!) are continuing the mediclaim  facility with another company. That will include following features.

• Every SVNIT family member will get a card which will be distributed shortly.
• Using that, u can get free treatment in some of the nearby hospitals that includes Sushrut, Adventist, mahaveer hospital, etc
  
• For blood test, patient need not to hurry near Sargam/anywhere; lab person will come to your room and collects  the sample and later u will get report in your room only. U need not to pay here too!
• Then comes medicines, ya they are also having an idea for medicines. They are including nearby drug stores from which you can get medicines free of cost.

So, svnit is getting a better place to live in nearby feature.
